Tiger's Promise by Colleen Houck

Blurb
A prequel to the bestselling Tiger’s Curse series, this much anticipated novella recalls the beginning of Ren and Kishan’s story. Before Kelsey there was a girl, raised by a villain, whose love for a hero changed the course of history. Trapped under the thumb of her abusive and powerful father Lokesh, Yesubai struggles to keep her own magical abilities secret while evading his dark powers. When Lokesh promises Yesubai to the prince of a neighboring kingdom, she becomes the central pawn in his plot to destroy the ruling family and take power for himself. Yesubai is trapped by her father's threats and desperate to protect the man she comes to love, but she knows that any decision she makes will have dire consequences. As dark forces gather around her, Yesubai must decide if she's willing to reveal that somewhere deep within her she has the power to change everything.

Review
The Tiger's Curse series is one of my all time favorite series. I have been obsessed with them and really enjoy the journey each time I reread them. Tiger's promise goes back tot he beginning where the curse started. In the series we learn little snip its of what happened to the Rajaram brothers but in Tiger's Promise we read from the point of view of each main character. It was nice to see the brothers from when they were younger as well as their parent's whom I've grown to love. This book also has a sneek peek into the fifth and final book of the series that fans are still waiting for. This is a must read to get the full picture of the curse and to learn about the elusive Yesubai.

The Host by Stephanie Meyer

Blurb  (amazon)

The author of the Twilight series of # 1 bestsellers delivers her brilliant first novel for adults: a gripping story of love and betrayal in a future with the fate of humanity at stake.

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.

Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

Featuring what may be the first love triangle involving only two bodies, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel that will bring a vast new readership to one of the most compelling writers of our time.

Review
I have read The Host more times than I can count and each time I cannot put the book down even though I know that is going to happen. This is the first time that I have read a love story where 2 characters inhabit one body so I want very curious on how that was going to turn out because come on...there has to be a happy ending right? The beginning was a little slow since we had to get to know the new world that we have been thrown into but after that it is almost impossible to stop yourself from finishing the book in one sitting. What I liked the most is that it makes you think about the human race. Read the book and you'll see what I mean. ;)

Took myself on a date

I live with my boyfriend and we are always together on our free time. Whenever we get the same day off we go out. I like shopping. Not clothes, more like books and stuff at hot topic since they sell disney accessories.  He always ends up waiting on me because I can spend hours in that store. This week I had my day off when my bf was working so I decided to go out by myself. I enjoyed it so much. I didn't have to rush and I could go on my own pace and spend time in stores. I went to hot topic and lately i've been having trouble with my h+1 account. The guy was really nice and very patient with me. I asked a million questions on their merchandise. He said he will help me since he knows I'm in all the time......guys...i've only been there 2 times lol When I told my boyfriend the story he started laughing. They probably think i'm in there all the time since I talk to all of them for hours.

After hot topic I went to barnes and noble. Bought myself a double chocolate chip frap and walked around for awhile.

Really recommend taking yourself out and splurge.

Rereading Fifty Shades of Grey

I have probably read this series like 6 times. I eventually got tired of those..*cough* scenes so I skip them and go to my favorite parts. Like when she throws the cocktail on Elena or when they are in Europe. I think i have watched the movie trailer multiple times and I already found a flaw but whatevs. I am really curious on the reaction the movies. With Twilight so many people complained about Edward. That was not who they imagined and all of a sudden everybody loved him and accepted him. Hopefully this will happen again with this movie. Honestly I don't mind the actors. I actually like the actress playing Anastasia. Looking forward to the movie!

What are your thoughts?

Short review - Dark Wolf Christine Feehan

I don't know if you know but...I am a huge fan of Christine Feehan books. I have read her ghost series, carpathian series, Drake Series, and Sisters of the heart series.

The carpathian series has a butt load of books and its been quite some time now that she has been building up some suspense for Dimitri's and Skylars story. In her series she has different couples that are called lifemates and tells their story. You get to meet different characters as well and can kind of get the hint of which ones will get together and then you have to wait for their book to come out.

THIS IS THE ONE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR FORERVER!

I was so excited when it came out. Before Dark wolf came out she was able to give some background on each character so you  know what is going on before this book came out. Needless to say you can just start in the middle because there is a lot of history that is told from book to book. So if you are planning to start this series make sure you start from Dark Prince.

This is a bit of a spoiler because there is no way I can start reviewing this without giving some back story or else you will be lost. So through out the series we are told that Skylar is pretty powerful for her age and for being human. She was also adopted by a very powerful family so she is basically very protected because they are not only powerful, but feared from pretty much everybody who knows them. She is the life mate of Dimitri but he hasn't claimed her yet because she is too young, He is centuries old while she is barely a teen. Technically she is still a baby in the eyes of their people. In the beginning of the book he is captured by the lycans. The lycans and the carpathians do not get along at all because if their races were to mix then a new species is born and they would be stronger than both races. Dimitri and his brother are both this mixed race which is why Dimitri is captured and being tortured. This book is very action packed and Christine did not let me down. I read this book about 4 times already. It is a very romantic book as well. I would give it a gazillion stars if I could.

Go read it!!
